Cosmic Oceans (feat. Steffaloo)

A 12 track balearic / downtempo ep (40m 29s) — released September 23rd 2013 on LebensStrasse

The beat & melody wizard Sun Glitters, out from Luxembourg, has passed, after the release of the acclaimed "Everything Could Be Fine", to be known as the creator of glitterwave as a genre. Until then, each of the genres that were assigned didn't described his sound on fullness. Besides the immense material he has produced, he has been a prolific musician remixing other artists, being impossible to forget the remix he did for the first release of Purity Ring.

His adventure mate for this Ep is one of the most talented artists in the spectrum of the lo-fi bedroom folk, although Steffaloo's career is not restricted to this style. Much of today's most exciting electronic owes to her an irreproachable aesthetics and beauty set of vocalizations.

The Cosmic Oceans Ep is fully of lovely buzzing sounds with lush melodies and wonky & sundrenched beats wrapping up airy and freshly vocals.

Each of the fuzzy electronic pop gems was also remixed by artists like Sina, Go Dugong, Mountain Range, Fieldhead, Japanese Gum or Napoleon Gold.

Lovely buzzing sounds from Luxembourg’s Sun Glitters, two minutes of tiny drums and wave-wash wrapping up airy backing vocals from LA’s Steffaloo. - Duncan Cooper Fader

Cosmic Oceans is another sundrenched, dense and absolutely sample-heavy electronic gem, only this time the vocals Ferreira distinctly manipulates are those of our adored LA folk songstress Steph Thompson aka Steffaloo - Henning Lahmann No Fear Of Pop

The instrumental cuts I found were soothing and soaring, but I couldn’t stop listening to “Cosmic Oceans”, which features Steffaloo. - Andrew Martin Potholes In My Blog

It’s a hazy, reverb filled affair, immersed with elements of My Bloody Valentine-esque shoegaze, yet mainting a downtempo, dubstep like, laid back vibe. - Josh Crack In The Road

“Cosmic Oceans” is the fruition of an aptly beautiful collaboration between Sun Glitters and Steffaloo. Drenched in a shimmery scape of airy lightness and celestial comfort - Hearing Gold

We were laying on a blanket under a sea of black staring up the sky and holding hands. You leaned over and gently kissed my neck and I could feel your breath move through me. A storm had just ended and the grass was still wet and the two of us could still smell the rain hovering. We started to get cold as the light wind blew in and wound up holding each other close. We had been waiting so long for this moment to come and finally after all of this time our dreams were becoming reality here underneath the stars. Our lips sealed in a kiss and that night I fell in love under a vast expanse of cosmic oceans. - Good Pop Bad Pop

On this EP, Steffaloo’s voice adds exactly what you want to the already complete sounds of Sun Glitters. Like ‘everything could be fine’ each of the three tracks here features a pulsing, not pounding, bass, draped in a flowing veil of electronic sounds; I guess you could call Steffaloo the sequins or glitter on that veil. - Gold Sweatshirt
